2.Old Irish Mary / Irish Mary. Paddy Cronin, the Gneeveguilla fiddle player, plays these two tunes on the tin whistle. At the 1949 recording at the plantation near Macroom he played Old Irish Mary for Seamus Ennis.
Ennis was very impressed with his whistle playing and his version of this
tune. He commented that the old versions were often the best. Paddy learnt it from a MacCarthy man of Leamyglessane, Gneeveguilla.

Brilliant tunes, played brilliantly. Great recording too - well worth listening with headphones to take advantage of the stereo fun.
